Indigo Hickory Stripe Cotton Denim, 12 oz
Indigo hickory stripe denim, 12 oz, 100% cotton. The classic Americana stripe denim used by railroad workers, mechanics, and overall makers for over a century. Indigo on natural white, woven warp-faced so the stripes read sharply from either side. Heavy enough for jackets and overalls, soft enough for shirts and bags.
Specifications
- Weight: 407 GSM (12 oz per linear yard)
- Width: 60 inches (152 cm)
- Content: 100% cotton
- Construction: Warp-faced twill weave with vertical pinstripe
- Stripe scale: Classic hickory railroad stripe, approximately 4 stripes per inch
- Origin: Woven for KBM Fabrics, finished in Los Angeles
What it's good for
Workwear jackets and overalls, chore coats, denim shirts, train conductor caps, painter pants, work aprons, structured tote bags, upholstery accents, and any Americana-inspired piece. Pairs well with solid indigo denim and natural canvas for two-tone construction.
Hand feel and drape
Crisp with body straight off the bolt. Softens substantially after the first wash without losing structure. The 12 oz weight strikes the sweet spot between heavy enough to hold shape for jackets and light enough to break in comfortably for shirts.
Care
Cold machine wash inside out, separately on the first wash since indigo will bleed. Tumble dry low or line dry. Iron on medium if needed. No bleach. Expect a small amount of fade in the first 5-10 washes, which is part of the character of true indigo denim.
