What is a swatch?

A swatch (also called a sample, fabric clipping, or cut piece) is a small square of fabric, about 4 by 4 inches, that we mail to you so you can feel the weight, texture, and true color before committing to yards.

It is the exact same fabric you would get if you ordered a full bolt. Just a smaller cut.

How to order swatches

1. Paste the URL of the fabric you want sampled into the field on this page.
2. Click add to cart.
3. Repeat for as many fabrics as you want.
4. Check out. We ship within 1 to 3 business days via USPS.

What you get

• Real fabric from the same roll we cut yards from
• About 4 inches square, enough to feel the hand, see color in different lighting, and check for stretch or drape
• Shipped flat in a small envelope

Why bother with swatches?

Fabric looks different on a screen than it feels in your hand. A few dollars on swatches can save you fifty or a hundred dollars from ordering the wrong fabric for your project. Most pro garment makers swatch first, always.
